1. Legal Status & Independent Repairer

Kent Device Clinic (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates as an independent repair business.

We are not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by Apple Inc. or any other manufacturer unless explicitly stated in writing.

Any reference to “Apple” or other brands refers solely to the device manufacturer.


2. Appointment-Only Service (No Walk-Ins)

Kent Device Clinic operates strictly on an appointment-only basis.

  • We do not accept walk-in customers under any circumstances
  • All devices must be booked in prior to arrival
  • Unbooked visits may be refused

This ensures:

  • Dedicated technician time
  • Controlled workflow
  • Secure handling of all devices

3. Inspection & Service Fees

All devices are subject to a mandatory inspection fee.

All services are carried out by appointment only. Walk-in inspections or advice are not provided.

  • Standard Inspection: £25
  • Advanced Inspection: £50

These fees cover:

  • Device assessment
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Technician time
  • Professional advice

Important:

  • Fees are non-refundable
  • Fees apply whether or not a repair proceeds
  • Free walk-in advice, inspections, or cleaning services are not provided

4. Absolute Data & Software Disclaimer

You expressly acknowledge and agree that:

  • We are not responsible for any loss, corruption, or compromise of data
  • You must back up your device before repair
  • We may update, restore, or erase software if required
  • Repairs may result in total data loss

Under no circumstances shall Kent Device Clinic be liable for loss of personal, business, or commercial data.


5. Water Resistance & Seal Disclaimer

You acknowledge:

  • Opening any device compromises factory sealing
  • We cannot replicate manufacturer’s sealing
  • Water resistance is not guaranteed after repair

No claims relating to liquid ingress after repair will be accepted.


6. Liquid Damage – High Risk Waiver

Liquid-damaged devices are unstable and unpredictable.

You agree:

  • Internal corrosion may continue
  • Components may fail at any time
  • The device may become permanently inoperable

All liquid damage work is performed at your own risk.

No warranty is provided unless explicitly stated.


7. Manufacturer Warranty

You acknowledge that:

  • Repairs may void manufacturer warranties
  • You are responsible for checking the warranty status

We accept no liability for warranty invalidation.


8. Structural Damage & Bent Devices

Devices with structural damage carry an increased risk.

  • No warranty applies to bent or structurally compromised devices
  • Any subsequent failure due to structural weakness is excluded

9. Repair Warranty

Our standard 12-month warranty applies only to:

  • The specific part replaced
  • Faults directly related to our workmanship

Warranty is void if:

  • Device is opened by third parties
  • Damage, liquid ingress, or misuse occurs
  • Structural issues arise
  • Software is altered externally

Warranty excludes:

  • Batteries degrading through use
  • Cosmetic damage
  • Software faults
  • User damage

10. Security Locks

We are not responsible if the device becomes:

  • Passcode locked
  • iCloud / activation locked
  • Disabled

You must remove security locks before repair, where required.


11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Liability is limited to the amount paid for the repair
  • We are not liable for:
    • Data loss
    • Business loss
    • Indirect or consequential loss

Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.


12. Estimates & Additional Faults

  • All quotes are estimates
  • Additional faults may be discovered
  • Revised quotes will be provided

If declined:

  • Inspection fees still apply
  • Reassembly fees may apply

13. Payment Terms

  • Full payment is due upon completion
  • Devices will not be released until paid in full
  • We retain possession until payment is made

14. Collection, Storage & Uncollected Devices

  • Customers will be notified when the device is ready
  • Devices must be collected within 14 days

Storage

We may charge storage fees for delayed collection.

Abandoned Devices

If after 30 days:

  • Payment has not been made, or
  • The device has not been collected

The device will be deemed abandoned.

We reserve the right to:

  • Sell
  • Recycle
  • Dispose of
  • Dismantle

to recover outstanding costs.

No compensation or liability will arise once the device is disposed of.


15. Postal Repairs

  • Customers are responsible for safe packaging
  • We are not liable for inbound transit damage
  • Return postage applies regardless of outcome
  • Risk transfers upon dispatch

16. Right to Refuse Service

We may refuse service if:

  • The device is unsafe
  • Security locks prevent testing
  • The device is counterfeit
  • Customer behaviour is abusive

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
